MY FIRST TWO DAYS AT SLEEPAWAY CAMP

My first day at sleepaway camp was filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. As I packed my bags and said goodbye to my family, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit scared about what the next few weeks would hold. However, as soon as I arrived at camp and was greeted by the smiling faces of the counselors and other campers, those nerves began to dissipate.

The day started with a tour of the campground, which was absolutely beautiful. The sleepaway camp was nestled in the woods, and there was a lake nearby where we could swim and canoe. I was especially excited about the prospect of going on a hike through the woods, something I had never done before.

After the tour, we were grouped into cabins with other sleepaway campers our age. My cabinmates were a diverse group of girls from all over the country, and I was excited to get to know them better. We unpacked our bags and settled into our bunks, chatting and laughing as we did.
The rest of the day was filled with a variety of activities, including swimming, canoeing, and arts and crafts. I was particularly impressed by the swimming instruction, which was provided by a certified lifeguard. I had always been a little bit nervous about swimming, but with the guidance of the lifeguard, I was able to improve my skills and feel more confident in the water.

As the day went on, I began to feel more and more comfortable at sleepaway camp. I made new friends, and I was having a great time. I was a little bit sad when it was time for bed, but I was also looking forward to the next day and all the new experiences that it would bring.

SECOND DAY AT SLEEPAWAY CAMP

The next morning, I woke up early and was greeted by the sound of birds singing outside my window. I got dressed and headed to breakfast, where I sat with my new friends and talked about all the fun we had the day before. After breakfast, we had a morning meeting where we learned about the schedule for the day and any special events that were planned.

The day was filled with more activities, including hiking, archery, and a nature walk. I was particularly excited about the nature walk, as I had never had the opportunity to learn about different types of plants and animals before. The hike was beautiful, and I was in awe of the natural beauty of the woods.

As the day came to a close, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit sad that it was almost over. However, I knew that I had so many more exciting days ahead of me at sleepaway camp. I went to bed that night feeling grateful for the opportunity to be at camp and for the new friends and experiences that I had made.

In conclusion, my first and second day at sleepaway camp was an exciting and memorable experience. It was filled with new friends, new activities, and new experiences. I was able to overcome my nerves and enjoy all that sleepaway camp had to offer. I was excited for the days ahead, and I knew that I would be leaving camp with memories that would last a lifetime.
