Let me introduce myself

I’m Carolina Lautenberg, your Camp Expert for South Florida and Brazil families.

My first bunk

I spent eight amazing summers at a summer/winter camp in Brazil (yes, I got to go twice a year—lucky me!). It quickly became my favorite place in the world, where I made lifelong friends who are still my closest to this day. And to top it all off, I even met my husband at camp!

From camper to camp expert

I have 15+ years of experience in marketing, working at companies like General Mills and Unilever as a Brand and Marketing Manager for Latin America. From ice cream to laundry detergent, I’ve learned how to connect with clients and present a product in the best way. But my connection with camps goes beyond just marketing—I was also a camp counselor for many years. That experience gives me a deep, personal understanding of what makes a camp truly special, and now I use both my marketing expertise and firsthand camp knowledge to help families find the perfect programs for their kids!

Ultimate camp highlight

One of my favorite camp memories was The Olympics, where we played all kinds of games and sports—including "soap soccer," a super slippery field covered in foam where you had to find the ball and score (which was way harder than it sounds!). The night activities were just as fun, especially trying to find counselors in the dark—it always turned into an epic adventure!

Why I love this job

I love helping families find the perfect camp because camp had such a huge impact on my life—and my kids’ lives too! I know firsthand how transformative the experience can be, and my goal is to find the best camp for each of my clients, hoping it will make the same meaningful difference in their lives.

My home bunk

I've been married to my "Camp husband" for almost 20 years, and we have two beautiful boys who absolutely love their camp. Funny story: I actually found their camp as a client of Camp Experts, and that’s how I fell in love with this job! It’s amazing how camp not only brought us together but continues to shape our family’s experiences.

Why I feel camp is a valuable experience

Because it gives kids the chance to try new things, make amazing friends, and grow more confident and independent—plus, they have a blast doing it all! It's a place where they create memories that stick with them forever.
