Let me introduce myself

Hi I’m Laurie Karol. I help Camp Expert families looking for summer programs in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.

My first bunk

I spent many years at day camp and overnight camps, including tennis camp. It was the best experience!  Since I love sports, I was able to improve my skills in tennis volleyball and softball. I also learned to slalom waterski!

From camper to camp expert

I have an MBA in Finance from NYU and worked in the corporate finance world for many years. After that I was the Director of a day camp. It was so rewarding to see so many children have the summer of their lives!  In additoon to being a Camp Expert, I am a licenced  Real Estate Salesperson.

Ultimate camp highlight

In addition to all of the activities at camp, I loved meeting new friends and hanging out in the bunk with my bunk mates.

Why I love this job

I love helping families find the “perfect” camp that suits their child. There is no best camp out there, but there is a “best camp” for each individual. Hearing from families the camp their child attended was the ideal fit is very rewarding!

My home bunk

My husband and I have three daughters. They spent many summers at camp in Maine. Their best friends are their camp friends!

Why I feel camp is a valuable experience

Camp is great for teaching confidence, independence, making lifelong friends, learning new skills that you might have never tried before and detaching from technology.
