Let me introduce myself

I’m Leslie Zeller, your Camp Expert for families in Westchester County, NY, most specifically the beautiful Rivertowns!

My first bunk

I spent the most memorable summers (20 to be exact!) of my childhood at Camp Chen a Wanda, beginning as an itty bitty 6 year old in Bunk A (Acrobats and Actresses), those plaques are still shining bright!). My camp friends are my best friends, and Chenny will always hold a dear place in my heart.

From camper to camp expert

I’m a social worker by training, and have worked in a specialized school within a social service organization and also in healthcare. I believe that life experiences shape us; introducing us to new and also offering opportunities to connect, find joy, and build resilience. So…. There’s nothing more perfect than the role of Camp Expert to partner alongside families in search of a summer dream.

Ultimate camp highlight

My fondest memories from Chenny will always be shaving our legs as though a party on the bunk porch, sneaking sun-in to bring out the blonde on our hair, gymnastics (those Bryn Mawr competitions were legit!), trips to roller skating, Dorney, Hershey, the movies, Binghamton Mets games around the 4th of July, jumping in the lake with the hope that our hair would look fab for evening activity, banquet of course, the list goes on and on.

Why I love this job

I absolutely LOVE connecting with others and walking alongside as they discover new!

My home bunk

My husband and I live in Tarrytown, NY and have three children- my stepdaughter is 20 (ahh!), and my boys are 11 and 7. We’re committed to making sure our kids’ summers are full of a solid combination of what brings them joy (these days intense athletics!), and introductions to all things new, too… both at home and away.

Why I feel camp is a valuable experience

It’s all about growth and change and camp sure does make this happen!!!
